Walnut Crazy, Walnut Mad
What a fantastic first time effort for the boy onehugeeye
He went his own way, down the road least followed to rack up an EIGHT stack of Walnuts, straight into the record books. BOSH!

Bowling Ball Stacking
"The most bowling balls stacked vertically without the aid of adhesives is 10, by David Kremer of Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA, on the set of Guinness World Records: Primetime, Los Angeles, on November 19, 1998. David is the executive director of a Roman Catholic order of brothers and priests."
Imagine what he could do with peanuts?
Nowt, I bet he's rubbish at it.
I'm trying to contact Guinness World Records, as they are now called, to enquire about nut balancing records. I checked in the latest edition and it wasn't in, though they don't list all 40,000 records they keep.

The Theatre of Dreams
I was in the "Theatre of Dreams" early doors tonight, which is Baroque, the pub where nut balancing was born, and a revolutionary technique came to me in a vision.
I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT OUT! I'll tell you soon enough if it works. I reckon the record is there to be broken.
I also had a super cool idea that, if the pints of £2 Budels lager hadn't knobbled me, I would have pimped to the manager. To wit: a brass plaque commemorating the day the sport was invented to be screwed to the table where it all happened.
Surely, they'd go for it and maybe they'd give us a few pints of Budvar Black?

Something wicked this way comes
BEWARE! BE VIGILANT! BRITAIN IS UNDER ATTACK!
This year British cities are again awash with German markets, and amongst the stalls of pretty wooden toys, strings of salamis and mulled wine, lurk a danger. The worst danger of the deadliest kind. CANDIED NUTS.
You read it correctly, candied nuts. Nuts that are covered in candy, the sweetest and stickiest of all nut coatings. I managed to purchase a big bag of mixed nuts over the weekend and I've been putting them through their paces.
My verdict? These are the nuts of the faker, of the charleton. These nuts stick and stack by merely clasping them together. These are the nut balancers equivalent of EPO.
Any other nut stack photos that bear any traces of nut candy will be removed from the pool and the poster will be banned from the group.
So, what can you do? Fortunately, these so called German Markets are easily identifiable. Here is how to spot the one in Leeds:
By all means visit these places, sample their meaty sausages, pickles and mustards, but please, stay away from the Candied Nut stall.
That is all.

Good Adsense sense
The Adsense ads have finally gone from strange "Manufacturers of prop-shaft balancing machines & equipment" to something suitable. Look at the supplies you can get from these fine peeps Redmoor - they're literally up to their guts in nuts!
Wonder if they will offer discounts to nut balancing enthusiasts? I'll make inquiries.

Just Nuts
An abstraction of Paul D's first recorded nut balance.
If people like it you might be able to buy it or something. Keep your eyes peeled.

The birth of cool
A naescent stack by first-timer Paul D. Just look at the oily-ness of the little divils!
Field Report
Date: 01 December 2005
Location: Victoria and Commerical Hotel, Leeds.
Went to a leaving do last night, so when the time was right I persuaded someone to buy some KP nuts for stacking.
Initially, there was a table full of nutters, all stacking away but quite soon fools started knocking the table, and the KP nuts were of such a poor quality that stacking became impossible, the stacking was soon over, with spent peanuts all over.
The best recorded stack was a 7-er, which was impressive considering how poor the KP nuts were, mainly tiny whole nuts or small halves, nothing you could have made a decent base-stone with, and greasy beyond belief.
Lesson to learn, when introducing nut balancing to newcomers, always pick a dry-roast. They are much grippier and seem to offer a better sized nut for balancing.

Experiments in Nut Balancing - 3 The Cashew
Talented rookie scoobymoo writes about their foray into nutbalancing:
"Observation: Hopeless. Far too polished and eccentric in shape."
scoobymoo is really pushing the envelope of what is possible here. She truly is OUT THERE... with her nuts.

Experiments in Nut Balancing - 2 The Brazil Nut
Talented rookie scoobymoo writes about their foray into nutbalancing:
"Observation: Much easier than other nuts despite raw state. Probably possible to achieve fiver/sixer without too much difficulty but not within time constraints of the experimental period."

Experiments in Nut Balancing - 1 The Raw Peanut
Talented rookie scoobymoo writes about their foray into nutbalancing:
"Observation: Difficult to balance - probably easier using roasted or salted nuts due to oil and salt/spices on surface increasing adhesion.
Conclusion: Very Tricky"
I must say, this is a series of beautiful compositions.

Piri-Piri Cashew Nuts
A "seasoned" nutter, cowfish writes:
"A mere 4, but that seems to be the current record for whole nuts (robpatrick's chufa and fooldesk's almonds).
I had 5 but had to go and get the camera and by the time I got back it was 4 again. Ho hum."
I feel this is a top notch effort in the tricky category of "Whole nut balancing - cashew division".
